The larger challenge lies in collecting as many different kinds of Pokémon as you can. Of course, completing the main story in any Pokémon game is only part of the game. In order to play successfully, you'll have to understand the strengths and weaknesses of your Pokémon as you train and battle with them. Each Pokémon has a certain 'type' classification (rock, fire, water, flying, ghost, steel, and psychic just to name a few) as do all the actions/moves available to a Pokémon. The battles are turn based and utilize a rock-paper-scissors game mechanic to infuse a degree of strategy.
